Is there any future for Polycrystalline Solar Panels?
Since February 2021 polycrystalline modules are getting expensive. The manufacturer says that the rates of polycrystalline cells are increasing. Looking at the global trend, very few solar EPC companies around the world are using polycrystalline modules. and hence, very few international manufacturers are making these kinds of modules.
On the other hand, various high generation modules. like the Monocrystalline half-cut modules, bifacial modules, HIT modules, etc are available in the market. These new modules and not only based on innovative technology but also assures high electricity generation.
As compared to the polycrystalline modules, these new edge modules can easily give you an additional electricity generation of 5%.
Investors and solar system owners are of the view that “the investment will take place only once but additional electricity generation is a continuous advantage“.
Initially, there was a huge price difference between the polycrystalline modules and other high-tech modules.
But due to this tremendous increase in the price of polycrystalline modules. that gap between these new edge modules and the old Poly module has reduced.
Many Indian Tier 1 Manufacturers like Waaree Energies, Vikram Solar, Renewsys, etc have increased the rates of their polycrystalline solar panels. Hence the high-efficiency modules like Mono perc half-cut cell are a clear choice.
It’s very hard to say, whether these increased rates of polycrystalline modules will settle down in the near future. Till the price gap between the old technology and the new technology remains narrow, new edge solar panels will be our clear recommendation.
Is there a future for Polycrystalline Solar Panels? is a question that many people in the Solar Industry are asking. By this time, dozens of new questions has formed in the mind.
