Avoid cheap solar panels!
In Indian market, it’s a tendency to opt for cheaper products over brand. Many have the conception that branded panels are charging more just because of their name while all the solar panels are the same.
After our visits to multiple solar sites, we found that many cheap solar panels do not even last for 5 years. Some of the common issues in those sub-standard panels are hot-spots, PID effects, frame degradation, spoiled back-sheet etc.
Recently, one institute has requested us to visit their solar system as they are not getting output and their solar installer was not addressing the issue. Hence our team went to the site and checked the solar system. To our surprise, all the solar panels were damaged. There was no physical damage to the solar panels but the back-sheet of all the solar panels got damaged due to the atmosphere. The cheap panel couldn’t even last for 4 years.
We tried to contact the manufacturer, but they started neglecting warranty claims by giving a poor reason. One of the executives from the solar manufacturer said that “these solar panels should not be installed directly on the solar structure”.

Selecting proper components is a duty of a genuine solar installer and hence, it’s more important to choose proper solar company who knows how solar works and who is always answerable to the customer.
